Your result is the narrower of two limits: your ears and your device. Earphones and speakers often lose a lot of output at the extreme treble or bass, and Bluetooth re-compresses the audio before sending it. Learn more
This is not a medical hearing test. It gives reference results from uncalibrated equipment. If you are worried about your hearing, or it drops suddenly, see an ENT doctor or audiologist.
Turn the volume down before you start
- Set your device volume to half of what you normally use or lower, and start with the earphones slightly away from your ears.
- The sound starts quietly. If you turn the volume way up because you can't hear something, the next audible frequency may suddenly be very loud.
- Stop immediately if your ears hurt or ring. This test is not a medical hearing test.
